The Earth as 100

A friend sent me this...

"If we could shrink the earth's population down to a village of precisely 100 people, with all the existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like the following:

There would be:
  • 57 Asians
  • 21 Europeans
  • 14 from the Western Hemisphere both north and south
  • 8 Africans
  • 52 would be female
  • 48 would be male
  • 70 would be non-white
  • 30 would be white
  • 70 would be non-Christian
  • 30 would be Christian
  • 6 people would possess 59 % of the entire world's wealth and all 6 would be from the USA
  • 80 would live in substandard housing
  • 70 would be unable to read
  • 50 would suffer from malnutrition
  • 1 would be near death
  • 1 would be near birth
  • 1 would have a college education
  • 1 would own a computer"
OK, so lets start this Christian thing again. If this was our matrix, what would our Christianity look like?

  1. Brad says - Wow, this is acctually amazing. Gets you thinking of strategy to reach people on a level where they are at. I think we forget just how much of the world is unchurched and does not understand the language of the church, that we have brought in.

We need to have a kingdom language, which I believe everyone will be able to understand. We, the church, need to engage the world around us where they are at in order to draw them into the life of Jesus and not our churchianity culture. We dont follow the worldly culture but we embrace the people who are stuck in it to bring them out of it, using the wepon of love which is the platform of the kingdom, the winskin of the new covenant, the disarming power of the work of the enemy.

These statistics have given us something to think about.

    Brad.

  2. With you bro -we continually have to ensure we are in the right conversation. Religion takes us in our own world of ideas and thoughts - the only problem is that we are the only ones in that conversation - a moment lost!
